The South Huntington Union Free School District, the Huntington Union Free School District, and the Harborfields Central School District all serve Huntington Station because it is situated inside their limits. The hamlet serves as the region’s main core.[5] Huntington station is the starting point for many trains headed into New York and marks the start of the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road’s electrification.[5] Additionally, the hamlet has access to the S1 bus, which runs along Route 110 and is run by Suffolk County Transit. The H10 & H20 buses service the region around the LIRR Huntington station, while the H30 & H40 buses only cover the southern half of the hamlet by Jericho Turnpike. The Town of Huntington also runs Huntington region Rapid Transit (HART) buses through the area.
